Dan Stevers - Mini movies for the creative church

Dan Stevers - Animator / Motion designer

Dan Stevers has been a real inspiration to me recently. He is an animator and motion designer What inspires me the most about his videos is his really clear insight on life. He mixes the graphics and the music together to create exactly the atmosphere he wants, and i tell you, it really works. I honestly believe these videos have alot of potential and could be life changing if showed to the right people so, yes, if you're bringing someone around to your church and you want them to understand what you're living for; these videos are just the right thing.

For instance, the video 'Make it Count', it took the words right out of my mouth when on many occasions evangelising i have been at a loss for words so, yes, if you want to bring the word to the street, here's your answer. It's effortless.

So far he has made 26 videos, From simple graphics, to bible stories and dramas. The play of words on the screen is made intense by the emotive music and different fonts giving the words power. I find that i never lose attention and it never fails to capture the viewers utmost interest.

The most important thing though is that Dan is making God's word simple, clear and easy to understand. and he is doing God's will through his works. One of his videos was played at one of our Christian youth events called RAW by the name of  'holy bunches of worship' Most the congregation found it rather amusing.

I have a couple of friends who do similar things to Dan stevers, such as video editing and graphics, etc... and I know for a fact that it takes much time and effort to make quality videos. So it really encourages me that this man is devoted to do this for a career and for a good cause.

London Day 2011 Storming the streets...

Front of the march
A few weeks ago our chuch had a big Jesus Festival which is held in trafalgar square once a year.

Running toward the stage

It's where the Jesus Army march from Hyde park corner to Trafalgar square. To put it in a nutshell; Singing, dancing, shouting and smiling with flags and sticks and banners and a hint of rapping all in an attempt to reach out to the lost hearts of the people in London. We have some of the main road blocked off, so we can march down safely, thanks to our organisers, we're so thankful to still have london day and with much perseverance and prayer we should continue to have them.

I really know that this event is powerful and has such colour and contrast to the world's fallen and empty system. This year as i was at the front, it really heartened me so see the change of people's faces as we, some twelve hundred or more, marched by with about forty dancers in colourful uniform danced by. One of our leader's called Danny prayed out through the mic so that everyone could hear bringing freedom to the captives and releasing the powers of evil from people's lives, people knew we were for real.

The man on the mic had us do different things in unison such as; A huge mexican wave, each of our five colour shouting the letters of the name J.E.S.U.S. Many of the bypassers were reluctant to join in but in the end they gave in to it. Also we were in  five different colours; purple, green, orange, red and blue, these all represent our region within the church, in other words what part of the country we were from. London were blue.

The day after the London day I heard the community house we have in London had eight new people join them in the morning and two more for the evening. It's great to know that our efforts bring fruit. Furthermore we march down the wide streets, legs burning, and past picadilly where many are gathered to watch on the corner and finally proceed onto Trafalgar square where the famous Admiral Nelson statue on his pillar is, This is where the fun begins.

There waiting for us is a live band and a stage that we then perform many sketches on and outreach slots, portraying the love of Jesus and our radical faith to the people. Nevertheless people who may have been confused or showed a real interest were certainly not ignored. We had groups of our trusty evangelists who greeted them and showed them friendship. Thanks to our rigging crew we had a well presented stage, an LED screen devoted to advertising purposes, and a gift shop for people to wear our colours and traditional red crosses.

We then pile on the stage at almost every song to dance, I gave up though as i so longed to join the crowd and explore. We had a swiss guy staying over at our community house called Anthem. He had come over in time for the meeting and was awe struck by the how friendly and outgoing our church was, not to mention the size. I felt I should explain what the man was saying at the front...

One of the most popular songs was the 'Get up Get down' song where we had a choreographered dance routine, often leaving everyone exhausted and sweating buckets, but i'd rather not go into the details. I believe there really isn't anything better than giving yourself to help others. All the effort and love that goes into these types of events was for the people surrounding us, not for our own sake. I couldn't recommend anything better to finding purpose and fulfillment in life then showing that we care for people, and in our chuches case, the country we live in.
We long to see change and make change

www.dafont.com. The number one font finding site.

www.dafont.com
Dafont.com has always been very useful to me and I reccomend it to anyone. It has a huge range of fonts. I would say I had a personal favourite but there are just so many. modern and old.

Not only does it have a huge number of fonts (in total 12,419 and counting) but it also has a wide range of useful logos and dingbats to choose from.
Here are nine popular fonts from the 'Eroded' category. Finding the font you want is simple all you do is choose from the 9 main categories and a further 79 sub-categories. Most of the fonts are free for download.

They're ideal for advertising; flyers, newsletters or even magazines and business cards. There is an interesting preview box, i often find myself on the site for alot longer than intended; scrolling through all the fonts and seeing what my name looks like.
Give it a try...
